Filmed in Pattani, Thailand's southern border province long stigmatized as a stronghold of insurgency, this documentary explores how local communities have endured decades of violent state repression under martial law, which has remained in force for more than twenty years. Through the queer perspective of an unconventional family, the film examines the social structures of a Muslim community: a rebellious gay art teacher, a flamboyant young Malay Muslim man, and a single mother with an open-minded attitude toward sexuality.
