Lost in her fears and fantasies, a young woman named Louise writes in a notebook, expressing her terror: of others, of herself, of the way she feels both like a plant and like something hunted. A young man, Thomas, finds the notebook on a train and, captivated, reads through it, discovering Louise's story of being haunted by ghosts and fantasies. As he turns the pages, he and Louise suddenly find themselves together in the heart of a forest, a nocturnal reality where dreams come alive and draw them toward each other.
