A ginkgo tree in the botanical garden of Marburg, Germany, silently watches three lives across a century. In 1908 a young woman fights for a place in the university's botany department; in 1972 a student is drawn into experiments with a geranium; in 2020, during lockdown, a visiting Hong Kong neuroscientist stranded on the empty campus tries to measure the old tree's signals. A competition title at Venice 2025.
