Deep in the forests of Piedmont, a handful of elderly Italian men and their beloved dogs hunt for rare white truffles worth thousands of dollars, guarding both their secret hunting grounds and a vanishing way of life. Shot with painterly, almost fairy-tale-like precision, this documentary is as much a portrait of old age and friendship as it is about the strange, lucrative world of truffles.
